The Parents Board

is comprised of approximately 47 engaged current parent couples who serve as a resource to the Dean of Students in representing the views, needs and opinions of current Georgia Tech parents.

In addition to their role as ambassadors for Georgia Tech, they provide valuable leadership level financial support to the Parents Fund and other areas of interest across the Institute.

Members commit their time, talent, and treasure to address a wide variety of issues and needs not covered by tuition, fees, or state tax dollars.

Board members in good standing are asked to serve throughout their child’s time at Georgia Tech. The Board meets twice a year on campus to learn more about current needs and issues that impact students and the Institute.

Mike and Stacie Kilgore, Parents Board Co-Chairs

As Parents Board Chairs, we would like to welcome you to Georgia Tech! Our children’s experiences here have been nothing short of transformative. All three are proud Yellow Jackets: two are currently pursuing degrees in industrial engineering and data science, while our eldest daughter recently completed both a master’s degree in sustainability and a bachelor's degree in business administration. Along the way, they’ve been immersed in research and projects that span machine learning, climate action, healthcare, and gaming optimization, opening doors to exciting opportunities with organizations like Delta, Warner Bros., and The Coca-Cola Company.

But what has meant the most to us is seeing how Tech has shaped them as leaders and community members. From Greek life and Emerging Leaders to GT Tour Guides, VOICE peer education, the Sports Business and Data Analytics clubs, they’ve gained not only skills but also supportive friendships and a deep sense of purpose.

Seeing their growth and the opportunities they have had inspires us to give back. We support the Parents Fund each year and also choose to give to other areas of campus that are close to our hearts. Joining together with other parents in this tradition of giving is one of the most rewarding parts of our Georgia Tech journey.
