About the Role  

The Parent and Family Programs department believes that when families are involved and informed, students benefit. As a Parent Assistant Leader (PAL), you are the face of Georgia Tech for the parents and families of current and prospective students. You will serve as a bridge between the Institute and home, acting as a vital resource for Student Engagement and Well-Being (SEWB).

Responsibilities  

  • Ambassadorship: Represent Georgia Tech and Parent and Family Programs at high-profile events.  
  • Event Support: Assist with major campus traditions, including Family Weekend, Spring Reunion, First Day of Class Photos, and Commencement.  
  • Resource Management: Act as a subject matter expert for parents and students navigating campus life.  
  • Office Operations (Optional): Opportunity to work ~10 office hours per week assisting with daily administrative and outreach tasks.  

 

Position Requirements  

  • Currently enrolled Georgia Tech undergraduate.  
  • Minimum of 12 credit hours completed by Fall 2026.  
  • Good academic and judicial/conduct standing.  
  • Preferred: Strong communication skills, teamwork experience, and bilingual/multilingual proficiency (to support our diverse global family base).  

Compensation & Commitment

  • Pay: $11.00 per hour (including training and event time).
  • Meals: Provided during scheduled event shifts.
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 60 hours per year, with the possibility for more based on interest and office needs.
