Major: Industrial Engineering
Classification: Third Year
Home Town: Marietta, Georgia
Advice for Parents:Georgia Tech takes really good care of their students - as hard as it sounds, try not to stress too much about sending your kid off to school. There are a ton of resources on campus for pretty much anything you can think of - healthcare, fitness, academic support, career growth, mental health, and so much more. College is a chaotic time, but it's also a time with a lot of personal growth. Trust the process and let your kid learn some valuable life lessons along the way. Be their biggest supporter and cheer them on from the sidelines without being overbearing.
Favorite place on campus:
My personal favorite spot on campus is the EcoCommons, located near the Kendeda building and the J. Allen Couch Park. It's a really pretty green space on campus with lots of nice quiet spots to sit and relax. There's a gazebo, hammocks, and some short walking paths. I like to bring a book or some homework here, or sometimes just sit and decompress with some music. Highly recommend checking it out!
