Greetings parents,

As many of you know, the housing application for next year opened last month, and we saw an unprecedented amount of interest from our growing student body. Whether your student has a spot in the halls next year, is on the waitlist, or is planning to move off campus, you'll want to know this helpful information about their next steps:

Those students with completed housing applications should have received an email outlining their next steps for connecting with roommates by March 8 and selecting their room in the days that follow. Students will receive an email with their time ticket for room selection before March 8. Those whose rooms are eligible for them to stay next year will get an email before March 6 with instructions for keeping their room assignment. The room selection period, which we call “self-assign,” will go through March 17. Your student will have the opportunity to do room swap at that point if they are not satisfied with their assignment.

If your student is on the waitlist, know that they can track their position on the waitlist and cancel without penalty if they find housing elsewhere while still on the waitlist. We encourage students on the waitlist to explore their options, so please make sure your student knows that we will host an off-campus housing fair on March 14 for students to explore some off-campus housing options and meet with property managers from the area. The fair is open to all students, so it’s a great opportunity if your student was planning to move off campus and has not yet signed a lease. If your student needs to live on campus due to a scholarship requirement or similar, they can fill out a form in the My Housing portal beginning March 27 to request priority consideration when and if we have spaces open.

I appreciate all of you who reached out with questions or joined us for our information sessions about the application process. If you and your students still have questions about their housing for next year, please continue to connect with the Housing Help Desk team by submitting an inquiry or calling 404.894.2470.
