Join us for our 31st Family Weekend! Parent & Family Programs collaborates with numerous campus partners and local vendors every fall to welcome our families back to campus for a special weekend. Activities include an Institute Update with President Cabrera, stimulating presentations by faculty and staff, College and School receptions, Family Fun Night, Arts@Tech event, Family Weekend Tailgate, Georgia Tech vs. University of North Carolina football game, student performances, Jazz Brunch with Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students John Stein, community service, and more!

Family Weekend at Georgia Tech is the perfect time to visit your student, learn more about campus life, and create special memories!

In order to make the Family Weekend registration process easier, we ask that you read the information on this page, as well as the other Family Weekend links to the right.

The Family Weekend 2019 schedule allows families to create their own schedule from the list of events and activities.  There is an overall Family Weekend Registration Fee and additional events (some with fees) to add as well. Your family can choose which events, sessions, and activities they would like to attend based on availability, interests, and your budget.

Adults (Ages 14 and up):  $36 per person
GT Students: $18 per GT student
Youth (ages 6-13):  $10 per youth/child
Children 5 and under are free with registered guests.
**You MUST have at least one GT student registered to attend Family Weekend
 
Friday, October 4
College and School Receptions
Location: Various locations around campus
Date/Time: Friday, October 4, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Cost: (Included in your Registration Fee, no additional cost)
 
Attend special receptions hosted by the various academic units throughout campus. Enjoy getting to know faculty and other school administrators in your student’s College or School and learn more about area of study at Georgia Tech.  Registration is required, but this event is free.

Family Fun Night
Location: Student Center
Date/Time: Friday, October 4, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Cost: (Included in your Registration Fee, no additional cost)

Bowl with your family, play a few games, enjoy some late night snacks, and have some fun as we close our first day of Family Weekend at Georgia Tech.  Don’t forget to take your family photo with our special green screen!  Enjoy a night of family fun – Yellow Jacket-Style!

 
Arts@Tech hosts Dökk
Location: Ferst Center
Time: 8:00 pm
Cost:
Adult Ticket - $15.00 ($25.00 value)
GT Student/Youth (Ages 6-13) Ticket - $10 ($25.00 value)
Dökk blends light, sound, and movement into a breathtaking, multi-dimensional universe created by fuse*, an Italian studio and production company that explores the creative use of digital technologies.  Aerial dancer Elena Annovi moves through a sequence of ten other-worldly environments created by software that synthesizes data from social media, the sound score, the dancer’s heartbeat, and her movements. Each stop on her journey illuminates the beauty created in response to the world around us.
 
Saturday, October 5
Family Weekend Tailgate
Location: Tech Tower Lawn (in front of Tech Tower on North Avenue)
Time: 2 ½ Hours prior to kick-off – game time to be announced
Cost:
Adult (Ages 14 and up) - $25 per person
GT Student - $20 per GT Student         
Youth (Ages 6-13) - $15 per youth/child  
Ages 5 and under are free
It’s TAILGATE time! Join other Georgia Tech families on Saturday prior to the game for food, music, family photos with the Wreck, face-painting and classic tailgate games. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Buzz – he may be buzzing by on his way to the game! Menu includes: hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie patties, mac-n-cheese, baked beans, dessert and drinks. 
 
GT Football Game Tickets
Cheer on the Yellow Jackets against the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Time of game TBD. These are discounted tickets for families.
NEW THIS YEAR – Families are able to purchase their own tickets directly through the Athletics website with the discount and can pick your price/seat section as well. You will also have the ability to have the tickets stored on your mobile device for the day of the game. A link will be sent to you to purchase your football tickets with GT Athletics after you register for Family Weekend.
 
Sunday, October 6
Jazz Brunch with Dean Stein
Location: Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center
Time: 10:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Cost:
Adult (Ages 14 and up) - $25.00 per person
GT Student - $20.00 per GT Student
Youth (Ages 6 -13) - $15.00 per youth/child
5 and under are free

End our special weekend with the Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students, John Stein and a jazz performance by Georgia Tech students.  Enjoy a delicious brunch buffet, mingling with other Georgia Tech families, and extra time with your Georgia Tech student before buzzing home. Don’t miss out on this final event of Family Weekend. Note: Pre-registration for this event is required.

Parent & Family Programs strives to provide a special experience for our students and family members participating in our programs. To ensure the quality of programming offered during Family Weekend, we DO NOT offer any refunds. We encourage you to make sure your family members can attend Family Weekend and double check the items in your cart before registering.
